Bible Study - Loving our neighbour

Date: Oct, Sunday 18th 11:45 AM - Oct, Sunday 18th 12:45 PM

Theme:

The impact our relationships have on the environment.

Our well-being, both individually and collectively, is essentially a relational issue. In the next couple of weeks we would like to explore our relational roots behind the whole environmental debate.  If perfect love of God and neighbour is the pinnacle of the good life (Matthew 22:34-40), then disordered relationship – both with God and others – is the root of almost every problem we face. Our failure to love God means we fail to care for the things God cares about, including the earth. As physical creatures, we possess an intimate solidarity with the earth; our well-being is tied to it. Failure to care for creation, therefore, is also symptomatic of a breakdown of love for our neighbours, whether they be near or far, in space or in time.
