Uniting Church in the City
Working to touch and transform the lives of people who live, work, play and worship in the City of Perth
Music is a major focus of worship at Trinity Uniting Church and the publication of our annual Music Programme is always eagerly anticipated. In addition to top quality music every Sunday throughout the year, a series of approximately seven major musical events take place at Trinity every year and feature the cream of Western Australian singers and instrumentalists. Our guests have included Aivale Cole (soprano), Gregory Baron ('cello), Bronwyn Wallis (harp), Anne Henderson (Principal Bassoon, WASO) and David Elton (Principal Trumpet, WASO). Some of our musical highlights have included a performance of Haydn's moving "Seven Last Words on the Cross" for string quartet and a ceremonial morning of music for organ, brass and timpani featuring the Brass Ensemble from the WA Academy of Performing Arts. By way of contrast, a much-loved event is our annual jazz worship which allows us to interpret the Gospel in a refreshingly new way. Since 2007, Jangoo Chapkhana has been the Director of Music at Trinity Uniting Church.
These music events forms part of Trinity's vision of providing high quality special worship events as part of our total worship experience. We have a pattern of inviting top quality soloists to our Communion Service on the first Sunday of the month. On top of that, we are thrilled to invite you to 8 major events during the year.

Trinity’s inaugural … in stillness and silence… was a significant worship experience in 2009. The congregation present at our first somewhat daunting venture into wordless worship delighted in taking refuge from the general hustle and bustle of daily life and engaging in their own worship.
As per last year’s order of service, stunning photographic imagery captured by Rev’d Chris Crause will help provide a beautiful framework for worship and musical balm to assist with this journey is offered to us by outstanding Perth musicians Gregory Baron (‘cello) and Bronwyn Wallis (harp).
A "dream team" of Perth's top singers joins Jangoo Chapkhana (organ) for a morning of uplifting music solos, quartets and your favourite hymns of praise. The solists are now confirmed: Fiona Smyth (soprano), David Woodward (tenor), Robert Hofmann (bass) and Bernadette Lucarnus (mezzo-soprano).
