Wedding Information Booklet
The Wedding Information Booklet provides a guide to help with planning your wedding.

Eligibility
You are not required to be members of our churches (nor be baptised) for you to be married at one of the Uniting Church in the City churches. Divorced persons are welcome, as long as divorce papers are provided.

Same Gender Marriages
The Uniting Church in the City Church Council has confirmed that same gender marriages will be conducted at any of our Uniting Church in the City churches.

Ministers
A Minister associated with the Uniting Church in the City may be available to officiate your wedding, according to the Rites of the Uniting Church in Australia. They can be contacted through the UCIC Office.

If you have your own Minister or Pastor from your own church, you are most welcome to have them officiate at your service, however, we do not allow civil celebrants to conduct weddings at our UCIC Churches. We ask for all non-Uniting Church Ministers to provide their registration number for weddings they conduct in our churches.

Cost
The fee for holding a wedding at any of the Uniting Church in the City churches is $3,850.

The first person to contact regarding your initial enquiry is our Ceremonies Co-ordinator, Helen Forgie, on 08 6103 4222 or helen.forgie@ucic.org.au

A tentative booking can then be made, however this booking will only be confirmed after payment of a non-refundable booking fee of $500.

Developing the Marriage Service
For those couples being married by one of the Uniting Church in the City Ministers, the format of the service will be that of the Uniting Church. Opportunity is provided for couples to select some elements in the service. Please see the Complete Marriage Service Booklet for information (this is available below under Downloads).

This allows for some variety and choice, particularly with respect to the vows. When you meet with the minister you will be taken through the service and different options will be explained.

Notice of Intended Marriage Form
It is a legal requirement that a Notice of Intended Marriage form be completed and signed at least one month before the wedding. The form can be downloaded here.

The Complete Marriage Service Booklet provides a step-by-step guide to the service, hymns and prayers for the Wedding Service. Please note there is an alternate marriage service that relates to Same Gender Marriages.
